Lightwater Valley Guide; Tips & Tricks

1. The park tends to open about half an hour before the rides so you’ll have time to park up, purchase/collect tickets & find your bearings at the start of the day.  Close to the entrance, you’ll find a select number of rides that open from around 10am each day.  This gives thrill seekers a chance to undertake Eagles Claw & Skyrider whilst young families can enjoy the extensive outdoor play area plus a few younger ride attractions.

2. Be ready to go as the staff open the main park from 10.30am each day.  As the barriers open, thrill seekers should head straight to the back of the park to tick off a few of the main rides before queues begin to build.

3. Closing times at Lightwater Valley vary each day depending upon the weather & visitor numbers.  Look out for more information on the day of your visit & those that can stay to close of business, you’ll be rewarded with fewer queues on the popular rides!

4. Picnics are welcome at Lightwater Valley and offer an easy way to make some theme park savings.  Plenty of open grassed areas and benches available throughout the setting with on-site lockers available within the reception area to store your cool bag.

5. Lockers can be found within the main reception area & are currently priced around £3 – £5 depending upon the length of time required and can be accessed as often as you like during your visit.

6. Great to see that FREE parking remains in place at Lightwater Valley Theme Park as this can be an annoying additional cost at so many theme parks nowadays.

7. Away from the theme park you’ll also find a range of retail outlets available in the adjoining shopping village, (you don’t need a theme park ticket to gain entrance), including gifts, clothing, books, plants, bedding & refreshments.  A great added attraction for those that don’t enjoy rides!
