Ripley’s London; Top Tips
Dubbed as the ‘Modern Marco Polo’, Robert Ripley built his career on amassing a collection of unusual but remarkable oddities in life that you are able to view in the heart of London within Piccadilly Circus. Follow our top tips below to help you get the most from your visit to Ripley’s.
1. Go Late; open until midnight each day why not consider a later visit for a quieter experience that also allows you to take advantage of discounted late entry tickets from 5pm, (last entrance at 10.30pm).
2. Hold On Tight; remember to hold onto your admission tickets as you will need to produce them again to gain access to both the Mirror Maze & LaserRace attractions.
3. Popular Attractions; queues build for both the popular Mirror Maze & LaserRace but as there is only one way around the attraction, (top to bottom), it is difficult to see how these can be avoided. The Mirror Maze is located half way around the attraction & the LaserRace is your final attraction on the ground floor.
Try to visit at quieter times of the day, (early morning or late afternoon/evening), to keep the queues down but as both these features are very popular, particularly with children, I suggest you resign yourself to standing in line, (more top tips below).
Ripley’s London; More Top Tips
4. Top Tip for the LaserRace; you can just purchase tickets for the LaserRace alone without visiting the rest of the attraction by gaining access via the gift shop or straight from the street. Tickets are reasonably priced at £3pp for the first game & then £1.50 for additional games, (March 2016 prices).
5. Avoid The Gore; you can avoid the torture exhibits on the fourth floor, (pretty gruesome), by taking a right off the staircase. This is clearly signposted just before you enter this area.
6. Refreshments; there is a cafe including a large seated area located on the third floor that is handily placed about half way through your tour. Whilst picnics are not allowed within the attraction, this area does offer a resting place.
7. Young Children; I’d think twice before bringing young children to this attraction. To get the most from this attraction, children need to be able to spend time looking through exhibits.
