Oakwood Theme Park

Oakwood Theme Park; Deals

1. Online Discounts; look  out for online discounts on tickets plus concessions for seniors, families & juniors, (3 – 12 years).

2. Tesco Clubcard Rewards; exchange clubcard vouchers towards admission charges for loyalty card holders, (must be redeemed prior to your visit).

3. Local Media; look out for offers running in local newspapers, promotional leaflets & tourist information hubs.

4. Group Discounts; available for those with 15+ in their party that book in advance, (open to friends & family too).

5. Public Service Discount; look out for Blue Light card discounts on ticket entry.  Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.

6. Come Back Ticket Offers; in previous years we’ve seen a Returner’s Return that offers a discounted second day at the park for those that can return within 14 days for around £10pp.  We noted that the the returner’s return could be used regardless of any promotions used to gain entry on the first day including clubcard reward tokens, vouchers or online discounts. Worth checking if this is running on the day of your visit & hold onto your original ticket & purchase before you leave the park.

Oakwood Theme Park; Beat The Queues

Whilst you are unlikely to experience excessive queue times at Oakwood Theme Park, (the longest queue we can came across was 40 minutes during our recent visit in mid August), there are ways and means to keep these wait times down.

i. Early Bird; always worth arriving 30 minutes before the park opens & join the few already queuing at the tickets booths. As there is no early ride time available at Oakwood, you’ll be one of the first into the park and raring to go!

ii. Ask Away; quiz the ticket booth staff for any rides not available/opening later that day so you can plan your day accordingly.

iii. Mini-Train; cut out unnecessary delays and take the 2 minute walk around to the park from the ticket booths rather than waiting for the train.

iv. Queues; there are no single riders at Oakwood so your options are either to join the main queue or bypass with a fast pass.

v. Fast Pass; opt for either a single fast pass for the main thrill rides , (drenched megafobia, speed, bounce), for around £10 or purchase unlimited fast pass access for these 4 for around £20.

vi. Single One Shots; are available to purchase on select thrill rides only from the photo ride kiosks located by each ride.  This allows you to assess the length of the queue first before accessing the ride from the exit if opting for a one shot.

Fast passes & one shots are in addition to your theme park entrance & offers you a method to bypass the queues.  On busy days, if can be worth investing in a couple of one shots to achieve all the main thrill rides quickly within the day.

Oakwood Theme Park; More Money Saving Ideas

1. Make use of the left luggage facility located within Whistlestop Shop, close to the mini-train stop.  Space is provided for picnic cool bags and you can drop off/collect items as many times as you wish during the day, (small charge applies).

2. Throw together a picnic for some easy savings as you’ll find plenty picnic spots dotted around the park.  Look out for the indoor picnic area should the weather turn.

3. Keep an eye out for events running throughout the day on the main stage that sprinkles some light entertainment in between queuing attractions.  It’s one for all the family too!

4. Worth packing some spare clothing so you can enjoy the water rides with peace of mind.

5. Parking; good to see that FREE parking remains in place at Oakwood Theme Park.

Oakwood Theme Park; Main Attractions

Oakwood Theme Park offers a wide range of family fun that includes Neverland themed attractions for young families, a wooden coaster for thrill seekers plus a good number of family thrill rides for those that sit somewhere in between.

Megafobia, previously voted the best wooden UK coaster, is joined by 4 other thrill rides including the water ride Drenched, (think a complete soaking and then add a further bucket of water).  All bar one of these high end rides are included within your standard entrance charge.

Neverland works particularly well for younger children & offers an extensive selection of attractions from Tink’s Flying School through to a first log flume, (Skull Rock).  Set away from the thrill rides, families can enjoy a quieter experience aside from the rest of the park.
